How to Turn Your Fears into Personal Power

How to Turn Your Fears into Personal Power

Yoga Exercises for Personal Power

“You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them.” ~ Michael Jordan

Whether you’re a basketball fan or not you probably know who Michael Jordan is, but did you know he struggled with doubts and fears about his abilities? Like many of us he struggled to gain his confidence and he had insecurities about whether he was good enough. Obviously Michael eventually learned how to tap into and harness the tremendous energy of his Manipura Chakra.

The Manipura Chakra controls your personal power– your self-confidence, self-awareness and true knowing. If you have balance in this chakra, your self-confidence grows based on your awareness of your natural talents and your knowledge of your unique strengths and gifts.

The Manipura or 3rd Chakra is also called the solar plexus chakra because of it’s deep seeded placement between the diaphragm and belly button; our fire power center.

This power can manifest into greatness or conversely; fear.  Fear that we will fail or that we will be judged if we let others see who we truly are. It is critical to correct any imbalances in this vital energy center if we ever wish to achieve our higher consciousness and the vision that is ideal for our life.

An imbalance in this chakra can not only produce fears and doubt which prevent you from attaining your ideal life, but it can also lead to a manifestation of physical ailments in your body such as digestive problems, ulcers, constipation, arthritis and poor memory. Sound important enough to need your attention?

We are each blessed with unique gifts that no one else can duplicate, but if we don’t learn how to effectively use the energy of the Manipura Chakra we may never achieve the destiny that lies in front of us.  If we let our fears take us off course, we have put our internal knowing and power on the back burner.

I recently did an interview with a very successful entrepreneur. If you saw her today you would never think she had a fear or doubt in the world, and yet she shared in our interview how just a few years ago she feared her business would fail and she would have nothing. She talked about how she learned to face and control her fear rather than let it defeat her.

The good news is that when we learn how to tap into the energy of the Manipura Chakra and the energy in this chakra is in balance we gain a sense of complete well-being and confidence. This feeling of self-confidence is based upon a true knowledge and awareness of our unique talents and gifts. It is not displaying a false sense of self or defensiveness; it is a true understanding of who you are and what you are capable of.

How do you know if the energy in your Manipura Chakra is in balance?  Fortunately, rather than waiting for a physical ailment to manifest, there are certain questions we can ask ourselves that will help us to gauge our own energy in this vital area.

In this week’s video, I ask you some questions that will help you perform a self-diagnosis of where the energy is in your own Manipura Chakra. Please join me by watching the video in the community forum. Just go the community forum at the top of the page and once inside you can watch the video by clicking on  “7 Natural Energy Center Training” and then “Manipura (Solar Plexus) Chakra Intro”.  Click on the link and enjoy this brief video as we begin our journey on the path to our higher selves. Until next week…

Namaste and smiles to you,

Wendy Billie
